About

“You can burn my house, steal my car, drink my liquor from an old fruit jar. Do anything you want to do, but honey, lay off of my shoes. Don’t you step on my blue suede shoes.”
  • I’m Jacquie, with a q.
  •  I was born and bred in Steeler Nation, but the District is my home now.
  • I am currently a student at The University of Oxford.
  • I am one of those stereotypical coffee-addicted, struggling college students–but no I am not camping out on Wall Street.
  • When I grow up I want to be Serena van der Woodson or Condoleezza Rice.
  • I am in love with all things Paris.
  • And this is my little blog about everything lust worthy, including Elvis himself.

I love that you love Elvis too! It is so exciting to find other Elvis lovers in my same age group! The Blue Suede Shoes is such a fabulous blog title — love, love, love!

Jacquie, you have more in common with my daughter than I realized. I almost named her Jacqueline (with a “q”) and she too refers to herself as a coffee addict and is also in love with all things Paris. And right now she is going to school in Steeler Nation! Small world ;-)

That’s too funny. Where does she go to school? Does she have a blog too?

Her name is Gabrielle and she is studying, let’s see if I get this right, Integrated Marketing/Communications and Digital Media Arts (double major!) at Duquesne. She does have a blog and if you check it out you’ll see the graphic design stuff, although she hasn’t gotten to it much lately. I meant to tell you that she got the chance to go to Paris a few years ago with members of our family. The trip left a lasting impression. Her wish is to return someday and for me to join her, so she can share the experience of Paris with me!

What a small world! I am a double major in communications & politics. And one of my dreams is to visit Paris with my mom.

thanks for commenting on my blog, because it led me to yours! I went to college in Pittsburgh, and am now studying in Europe for 6 months. I’ve been to Paris and am now dying to go back, am heavily dependent on caffeine, and have a slight shopping addiction that I can’t properly feed here because the US dollar sucks. so I guess we have a lot in common :)

it’s such a small world! where are you studying now? I would die to be able to spend a whole six months in Europe.

I’m studying European Culture & History with a focus on France, so I’m pretty much in academic heaven right now.

HAHA omg I, too, both love Condi Rice and Serena!! In high school, I chose a Condi quote for my senior picture, and the Gossip Girl series was my secret addiction. When it became a TV show I was like 22, and I was like “well, I don’t give a crap, I’m still going to watch it!!”
