Claymation: A Christmas Classic

December 11, 2011

Nothing puts me in the holiday mood more than one of Arthur Rankin’s Christmas claymation classics. Growing up I assumed everyone watched these specials year after year, but I’ve come to realize not nearly enough people know about them. So for everyone’s benefit I put together a list of all of his Christmas specials. I know they look outdated and juvenile, but trust me they are the best Christmas movies of all time.

  • Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town
  • Frosty the Snowman
  • Jack Frost
  • Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
  • Rudolph’s Shiny New Year
  • The Year Without a Santa Claus
  • The Little Drummer Boy

If you must choose one, I highly recommend The Year Without a Santa Claus. Here’s a little snippet of its awesomeness:

You can catch some of these on ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas:

  • Jack Frost: Saturday, December 17th at 11 am
  • The Year without a Santa Claus: Saturday, December 17th at 12pm
  • Santa Claus is Coming to Town: Saturday, December 17th at 10pm
