Some Days
Some days you wake up only to find you have a headache from writing two essays the day before and you were supposed to wake up two hours ago to start writing another 3000 worder that’s due at midnight but you overslept. You realize you’re out of groceries & broke & don’t have time to go the store. Then remember you have to go all the way across town simply to sign in and prove you’re still alive. Then you notice it looks suspiciously like its going to start raining any second. And all the while you’re thinking this is already a bad day and I haven’t even gotten out of bed yet.
Then you look over and spy these lovely flowers that your mama & sis sent you for your birthday. And open the window because your room is a little stuffy and realize its sixty degrees outside and you don’t need a coat. And then you put this playlist on & realize the day’s not so bad at all. In fact, you’re one lucky duck.
Thank you to my mom & Sarah–the two best ladies I know–for these beautiful flowers.
Me & my mom among the tulips last Easter at the Basilica
Me & my sister Sarah pretending to be twins/poster models for CUA
I miss you both & I cannot wait to be reunited in a little over a month for Easter again this year.
Lots of love from England.

your post reminded me of what my life was like as a student in england. the essays, the it-feels-like-its-going-to-rain and all! thanks for taking me down memory lane :)
p.s great playlist, too!
some days seem bad, but then you realize that you’re living in an amazing foreign country and having a life changing experience with some fabulous people. I’m glad your day turned around :)
So true… great post. You’re day is really what you want it to be.
*your day, oops!
